Alfredo Corrales New Trainer For Chocolatito
The four-time Nicaraguan world champion Román “Chocolatito” González, officially confirmed Gustavo Herrera as his new coach and Alfredo Corrales, as the one in charge of his physical preparation, in a year 2018 that will be key to his medium-term future, as he recently arrived to be in the Olympus of world boxing, to be rated as the best fighter in the world pound for pound.
But that distinction, along with his fourth and last title in the world, the super flyweight of the World Boxing Council (WBC), were erased in one stroke by the Thai Srisaket Sor Rungvisai last year, who defeated him a couple of times.
Roman was defeated by Thai last March, to lose the WBC title. And in the rematch, he received a spectacular knockout in September in Carson, California. That knockout in four rounds, forced a forced break for the “Chocolatito”, who after a stormy 2017, is now prepared under the direction of Herrera, who directed it at the beginning of his career, since he yielded to Arnulfo Obando (qepd ). “Gustavo Herrera is one of the men who knows how much it has cost me to reach the top, I remember that we started working from the bottom, after my father Luis González and three-time champion Alexis Argüello had me, I was able to crown myself with him first time and who better than him to start this new stage, “said” Chocolatito “at a press conference that took place this Thursday afternoon. “For my part, I am very happy that you have me.” He approached me humbly to ask me to work with him, I agreed and thank God we have reached an agreement and that is why we are here, “said Herrera. “There is a lot of work to be done, but I am happy because he is a great fighter and must return to that aggressive level that always characterized him,” he reiterated.
