In the newly announced co-main event, super lightweight contender Ryan “Blue Chip” Martin (18-0, 11 KOs) of Chattanooga, Tennessee will bring his unblemished record to the desert in a 10-round fight against Marcos “El Tigre” Jimenez (22-7, 15 KOs) of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. 

Hoping to make TV, heavy-handed Genaro “El Conde” Gamez (4-0, 3 KOs) from San Diego, California, returns to Fantasy Springs for the first time since knocking an opponent clear out of the ring last September. CECILIA BRAEKHUS AND ERICA FARIASWEIGH-IN RESULTS

Bergen, Norway (June 8, 2017) This afternoon the official weigh in was held for tomorrow’s “The Battle of Bergen” as “The First Lady of Boxing”, CECILIA BRAEKHUS, (30-0-0, 8 KO’s), holder of all five major welterweight world titles (WBC/WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO), and current WBC Junior Welterweight World Champion ERICA “La Pantera” FARIAS, (24-1-0, 10 KO’s), of Buenos Aires, Argentina both were within the welterweight limit of 147 pounds.  

Breakhus weighed in at 146.6 pounds while Farias tipped the scale at 144 pounds.
BRAEKHUS vs. FARIAS is the third professional boxing event to take place in Norway following the decades long ban on professional boxing. A crowd of over 15,000 is expected at Bergenhus Fortress – Koengen, a concert venue typically used for the biggest musical acts touring Europe.
 The only undisputed world champion in boxing, Braekhus is also universally recognized as #1 Women’s Pound-for-Pound Fighter in the World.

Undefeated NABF Super Bantamweight Champion Randy “El Matador” Caballero (24-0, 14 KOs) has sustained an injury to his right ankle in training camp and regretfully has been forced to withdraw from his upcoming 10-round, headlining bout and first title defense against Oscar ” El Jaguar” Negrete (16-0, 6 KOs) for the June 30 edition of Golden Boy Boxing on ESPN.

The card will still take place on June 30 at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino and Golden Boy Promotions will now feature Negrete versus experienced contender Jesus “Estrella” Ruiz (35-8-5, 24 KOs) for a 10-round bantamweight main event for the vacant NABF Bantamweight title. Ruiz was last seen in the ring going toe to toe against Caballero for the vacant NABF super bantamweight title, in a rugged battle that went the distance.

 LOS ANGELES – The biggest fight in boxing today will come to T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday, Sept. 16 when two-division world champion Canelo Alvarez (49-1-1, 34 KOs) squares off against IBF/WBA/WBC Middleweight World Champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin (37-0, 33 KOs) over 12 rounds during Mexican Independence Day weekend. The event will be produced and distributed live by HBO Pay-Per-View.

 

“I am thrilled to return to T-Mobile Arena, and to give the fans the best fight that can be made in our sport today,” Canelo said. “I have repeatedly said that I fear no man, and I am now going to prove it by stepping into the ring against GGG. When the final bell rings, everyone will know that this is indeed the Canelo era, and that I am the best fighter in all of boxing.”

 The fight, to be contested at a maximum of 160 pounds will feature two of the most explosive, heavy-handed fighters in any division in the sport today. In their combined 88 fights, 67 have ended before the final bell.
