“MESERITO” RODRIGUEZ WINS WBO LATINO SUPER FLYWEIGHT TITLE OVER QUIJANO IN TAMPA

Tampa, Florida- Ricardo “Meserito”Rodriguez (14-3, 4 KO) captures the WBO Latino Super Flyweight title with a active back and forth affair against Puerto Rican belt holder in a 10 round unanimous decision over David “Dabo” Quijano (16-5-1, 9 KO’s) In a sold out A La Carte Pavilion “Summer Series” fight card on Boxeo Telemundo presented by All Star Boxing, Inc. 

Rodriguez-Quijano extravaganza lived up to its expectations as the hard hitting Quijano went from boxer to slugger right into Rodriguez’s den early on giving Meserito opportunities to bang Quijano in the inside. You can never count Quijano out of a fight, he responds back with hard counter shots on Rodriguez.


Rodriguez has shown a lot of confidence in the fight timing Quijano in the mid rounds 

showing better versatility winning rounds. No question Quijano battled but kept 

standing in front getting hit with hard shots, credit goes to Quijano he can box and take what Rodriguez gives him.


Rodriguez came out on top the official scores identical 98-92 (3x) all for Rodriguez. 


Welterweight “Hurricane” Sammy Valentin (7-0, 5 KO) scores a tough hard fought unanimous decision win over Philly fighter Greg Jackson (6-3, 2 KO). A very good scrap right from the start as Jackson starts off boxing Valentin throwing hard sweeping right hands, Valentin not afraid to go inside against Jackson keeping it close Valentin defiantly sharper with his punches the smaller man was looking like the bigger man in the fight. Jackson fought small and close not using his distance to establish his punches, Valentin took some hard shots from the gain Jackson who fell short. 

Ukrainian Tampa fighter Viktor Kulakovski (5-2, 3 KO) pulls out the unanimous decision victory over tough Curtis Waller (0-2-1) in four rounds.

Santiago Arroyo (4-0-1, 3 KO) battles Hector Gonzalez (1-4-2, 1 KO) to a 4 round majority draw judges scores 38-38 (2x) 37-39 

Irish John “Bam Bam” Cooley (1-0) from St. Petersburg, Florida wins his pro debut by beating Roberto Martinez (0-2) to a unanimous decision victory by out scoring Martinez in all four rounds judges scores 40-35 40-35 40-35 all for Cooley.

Tampa young star Mark Reyes (2-0, 1 KO) gets his second win at the Al La Carte Pavilion by destroying Niko Browne (0-1) at 1:19 of round two by TKO victory. Reyes the destroyer popped Browne right from the opening bell it was all down hill for Browne as he was getting caught clean with the hooks and power shots that finished him off in two.

Midyael Sanchez “El Diamanté” Negro in his US debut fight at the A La Carte Pavilion gave Euris Silverio from Kissimmee, Florida all he can handle as Sanchez picking his spots using a great right hand behind the jab breaking down Silverio in 4 rounds by unanimous decision victory. The official scores were 40-36 all three judges.
