CAMPFORT DEFEATS WILLIS

In the main event OnePunch Productions “Ballroom Brawl” at the Doubletree Westshore in Tampa, Florida Jr. Middleweights in a rivalry of two local hard fighters Quinton Willis (6-2-1, 3 KO’s) takes on “Silky” Wilky Campfort (7-1-0, 4 kKO’s), needless to say this fight started with great action from the bell as Willis came forward early with a jab and nice hooks, Campfort adjusted quickly with power shots of his own making Willis fight going backwards, Campfort kept the pressure on Willis throughout the round taking one in his favor. Willis was not having any of it pressing the action and going right to the body of Campfort who seemed game responding with slick combinations moving side to side, Willis stays right in there with a nice straight right hand putting Campfort in defensive stands very close round to call.
Willis keeping the action right in Silky’s face, who continuous to respond with vicious shots two Willis chin, Willis keeping the pace as both fighters exchange in the center of the ring 2 rounds to one at this point for Campfort. Quickly Campfort jabbing his way in then landing straight right hands at Willis who tends to be ducking a lot in the round, Willis known as a extra base hitter not picking up the pace in three.
Willis not fighting with consistency not having any distance with Campfort , who continues to throw nice short hooks working in the inside at will with Willis who needs to pick up the pace to have an opportunity to win the fight Campfort just building great momentum for himself at this point of the match.
Willis comes out with a nice overhand right in the beginning of round five, Campfort jumps right in there back in very close range with Willis not allowing him to load up his shots, Campfort just showing beautiful display of boxing tonight. Willis came out in the last round throwing more shots but out countered by the control led Campfort who wins unanimous decision 60-54 and 59-55 twice.

In co-main event rising star from Cuba Luis Ortiz (6-0, 4 KO’s) slugs it out with Ruben Rivera (3-6-0, 1KO) from Puerto Rico, as Ortiz does not waist any time going right to Rivera’s body and establishing a good double up jab early in the round, Rivera slow to react in exchange with Ortiz who continues to control the pace. In two, Rivera hanging in with Ortiz who landed most of the punches and body shots in the round, Ortiz showing the cleaner harder shots.
Ortiz calmly continuing to control the action landing solid hooks to Rivera’s body, Ortiz in excellent fighting shape outworks the slower Rivera in three. Rivera has to make something happen at this point of the fight just getting out worked. Rivera quickly turns to low blow tactics in the round jumping on Ortiz in the clinch, Ortiz continues to dish out another low blow shot a point from Rivera was taken, Rivera jumped in there right away and bought the DQ with another senseless low blow to Ortiz, At 2:50 mark Rivera gets the DQ loss.
Undercard Action Results:
Cuba’s Yoandris Salinas (5-0, 2KO’s) demolishes Angel Lopez (2-10, 2KO’s) from Puerto Rico with a tremendous assault to the body as referee Max Parker, Jr. stops the bout at 1:50 of the first round
Miguel Canales (0-1) in his pro debut was dropped twice in the 1st round by Frank Gedeon (2-0) who was in the driver’s seat early. Canales could not start the engine corner threw in the towel in the 2nd round at .50 seconds, Gedeon remains undefeated.
Kadel Martinez (1-0) from Cuba takes the majority decision over Shane Tenney (0-2) scores 38-38 and 40-36 twice. Martinez showed more showboating then fighting however slightly edged it out.
Vilier Quinonez (2-0) from Miami, Fl. Makes quick work out of LD Herbert (0-1) from Texas stopping him at 1.13 of the 1st round.
Umberto Savinge (3-1, 2KO’s)from Cuba controlling action throughout the bout against Amador Acevedo (3-9-1 3KO’s) winning the unanimous decision 40-36 on all judges cards.
Sherali Dostiev was very unimpressive winning a unanimous decision over Carlos Rivera from Oldsmar, Fl.

Tampa – Boxing Trainer Pete Fernandez who will be honored this summer into the 2011 Florida Boxing Hall of Fame, Celebrates his 66th birthday with friends at the Doubletree Hotel in Tampa prior to the official weigh ins for OnePunch Productions, “Ballroom Brawl”.
